Da Vinci’s Table: Renaissance Foods & Feasting

Not only art, but food too, reached amazing heights in the Renaissance. Feasts were fanciful daylong events filled with great food, wine, and entertainment. Join Francine Segan-noted food historian, cookbook author, and James Beard finalist-for a fascinating talk on the festivities, fanciful foods, intriguing table manners, and unusual dining customs in Italy during the Renaissance.  Sprinkled throughout the lecture are samples of the bawdy jokes, puns, and riddles told between courses back then. After the talk you will enjoy a dessert reception featuring some of Italy’s finest desserts & an assortment of fine after dinner drinks.
